Marquette welcomed over 3,600 guests to campus, including 1,566 students, across four sessions of the university’s SPARK program this summer. An additional 387 students participated in the SPARK @ Home offering.
SPARK offers students and their families the opportunity to prepare for their upcoming transition to Marquette. During the one-day program, students register for fall classes and learn more about the university’s Jesuit mission and what it means to be a member of the Marquette community. Given housing assignments went out prior to the first SPARK session, many students also participated in residence hall tours to see where they’ll be living this year.
SPARK is an important touchpoint with students when it comes to retention. As higher education faces uncertainty, it is more critical than ever to make each one of our incoming students feel a strong sense of connection as they begin their Marquette journey.
