Dr. Kevin Yu, a postgraduate resident in endodontics at the Marquette University School of Dentistry, was awarded third place in the American Association of Endodontists Resident Awards for Oral Presentations.
This national recognition honors the 10 highest-scoring oral presenters among postgraduate endodontic residents at the AAE’s annual meeting.
Yu presented his research, titled “Evaluation of Periapical Lesion Detection by Anatomical Region Using a No-Code Artificial Intelligence System.”
His work was conducted under the mentorship of Dr. Manal Hamdan, Dr. Zaid Badr and Dr. Stephanie Sidow, and stood out among presentations from residents at Commission on Dental Accreditation-accredited institutions nationwide.
The AAE Resident Awards recognize excellence in scientific research and oral presentation skills. Judging is conducted by members of the AAE’s Research and Scientific Affairs Committee and selected AAE member reviewers.
