Dear friends of the Diederich College of Communication:

As we bring another academic year to a close, I find myself reflecting not only on where we have been but also where we are headed. Our field continues to evolve at a remarkable pace, and preparing our students for that future requires vision, adaptability and collaboration.
In this edition of our digital magazine, I am proud to highlight the ways in which our digital media program has evolved; this is a major and minor shaped by the combined efforts of our dedicated faculty, talented students and engaged alumni. Together, we are reimagining communication education to meet the demands of our rapidly changing world. The curriculum and hands-on learning opportunities, including internships and project-based experiences, are designed to ensure that students graduate with the agility, creativity and skills to thrive in a dynamic yet shifting environment.
Additionally, we have welcomed Dr. Emily Cramer, an alumna of our undergraduate program, back to the college as a faculty member focused on health communication. Much like digital media, the field of health care continues to move at a rapid pace and now, more than ever, the communication between practitioners and patients must keep pace. As a scholar and a teacher, Dr. Cramer brings her expertise to her field and to the classroom.
I invite you to explore the inspiring stories and exciting developments featured in this issue. They reflect not only the promise of our students, but also the strength of our community in shaping the future of communication.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kati Berg
Acting Dean, Diederich College of Communication
