The Institute for Women’s Leadership invites the Marquette community to the IWL research social featuring the Fall 2024 IWL Faculty Fellows on Wednesday, May 7, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the 707 Hub.
The social will include presentations on the work of IWL’s fall cohort. Light refreshments will be served. Register online.
The fall cohort consists of:
- Dr. Alison Efford, associate professor of history in the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences
- Dr. Kathryn Malin, assistant professor in the College of Nursing
- Dr. Zori Paul, clinical assistant professor of counselor education and counseling psychology in the College of Education
Their research uses feminist frameworks to examine structural injustices across three distinct contexts: investigating how structural and social determinants of health impact maternal and infant outcomes; exploring a German American feminist’s perspective on rape prosecution in the mid-19th century; and analyzing the effects of the loneliness epidemic on women of color.
Together, these projects demonstrate how feminist inquiry offers a vital lens for understanding complex historical and contemporary issues.
