Action required for those who have not recently used MUID for building access

Individuals can ensure continued access by using card

Members of the campus community who have not been using their Marquette University ID card to access campus facilities or the Pleasant Prairie location within the timeframes listed below will have their door access disabled unless action is taken. This safety measure, due to advances in Marquette’s security software solution, is a precaution in the event of loss and theft of ID cards.

Access will expire for the following groups if a card has not been used within the stated timeframes:

  • Active students: if a card has not been used in 18 months
  • Active employees and emeriti faculty: if a card has not been used in 18 months
  • Contractors and guests: if a card has not been used in 12 months

Starting this month and on a rolling basis, all active employees and students whose door access will be disabled due to 18 months of inactivity will receive an email from MarquetteCard Services two weeks prior to the access being disabled. Their access will be disabled two weeks later if the cardholder does not use the card by that date.

Disabling door access credentials does not impact access to IT systems, printing or MarquetteCard dining or retail transactions.

If an employee or student’s credentials are disabled and need to be reinstated, MarquetteCard Services can do so after verifying that the individual is an active member of the campus community.

To restore campus door access or with related questions, email, call (414) 288-2273 or visit MarquetteCard Services in Union Station (AMU 158) during business hours. Outside of business hours, visit the Marquette University Police Department at 749 N. 16th Street to restore access. There is no charge for restoring door access.
