SWIM community conversation series panel on mental health and policy, March 25

Scaling Wellness in Milwaukee, in collaboration with the Center for Peacemaking, will host “Social determinants of mental health and social policies that foster resilience: Understanding the connection between our daily surroundings and well-being,” on Tuesday, March 25, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 801 N. 27th St. in Concordia Multi-Purpose Room 27.

Learn how stress impacts the brain and can increase the risk of mood disorders and even suicide. The event will explore how to create healing environments and how this can protect against stress, build resilience, and promote wellness. Register online

  • Dr. Susan Giaimo, teaching professor of political science in the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences
  • James Mathy, housing administrator for the Milwaukee County Housing Division 
  • Dr. Robert Wheeler, professor of biomedical sciences in the College of Health Sciences
