Sleep Awareness Week is this week; free 1:1 sleep coaching available through My Wellness

With the clocks being forcibly turned ahead last weekend and the lost hour of sleep that comes with that, it is the perfect time to think about habits pertaining to sleep and whether or not you’re getting enough of it.

One-on-one free, confidential coaching is available to Marquette faculty and staff, including sleep coaching to increase awareness of and improve sleep hygiene.

Signs that one is not getting enough quality sleep include:

  • Difficulty concentrating or remembering
  • Irritability or moodiness
  • Feeling hungrier than normal or gaining weight
  • Increased bouts with illness
  • Depression
  • Dark circles or bags under eyes

Not getting enough quality sleep for an extended period can increase the possibility of developing serious health conditions including high blood pressure, heart disease, and mental illness.

The free one-on-one coaching is available in the My Wellness portal, and participants of any of the lifestyle coaching offerings can earn up to 100 My Wellness points.
