Reflecting through the Lenten season

As we begin our Lenten journey today with the celebration of Ash Wednesday, we remind ourselves that Lent is a time of reflection, almsgiving, and sacrifice.

Over the next month and a half, faculty, staff, and students from across campus will reflect on what they are praying about during Lent through this video series. As you hear their stories, I encourage you to reflect on each day’s readings and gospel as well.

Think about what truly matters in your life. What brings you closer to your friends, family, and community? What strengthens your relationship with God?

Today, I am thinking about how I can be an ambassador for Christ based on today’s second reading. How can we live out God’s message to spread love and joy throughout our lives and into our communities?

I wish you a bountiful and reflective Lenten season and hope you enjoy hearing from your fellow Marquette community members over these next six weeks.

God bless us all, and God bless Marquette!

Reading 2

2 Corinthians 5:20—6:2

Brothers and sisters:
We are ambassadors for Christ,
as if God were appealing through us.
We implore you on behalf of Christ,
be reconciled to God.
For our sake he made him to be sin who did not know sin,
so that we might become the righteousness of God in him.
