The Faber Center for Ignatian Spirituality will host a three-part prayer workshop over the course of three Thursdays — March 27, April 3 and April 10 — from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Schroeder Complex 111.
Dr. Dinorah Cortés-Vélez, professor of Spanish in the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences, will work with participants to explore the power of poetry to tap into “places of possibility within ourselves,” as great poet Audre Lorde once said.
Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the images of God within as they are elicited by poetry as a journey of encounter with the Divine. Participants will also be guided through a literary workshop format to write original prayers in poetic form.
