Cup of Community coffee social, Feb. 14

Looking for a way to connect with the Milwaukee community and wake up energized for free? Join Near West Side Partners and Scaling Wellness in Milwaukee for a mid-winter coffee social at Concordia 27 on Friday, Feb. 14, from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Warm up with free Collectivo coffee, tea, pastries and a healthy breakfast option at the Near West Side’s newest and most vibrant gathering place, Fruition Cafe (825 N. 27th St.). Meet neighborhood leaders, residents and small business owners for a morning of networking, connecting and camaraderie.

Attendees will have an opportunity to tour Concordia 27, a historic renovation on 27th and Wells Streets, and learn about SWIM’s classes and services.

Near West Side Partners

Near West Side Partners, Inc. is a nonprofit organization founded through the support of five anchor institutions: Advocate Aurora Health Care, Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Marquette University, Molson Coors and Potawatomi Business Development Corporation. Its mission is to revitalize and sustain the Near West Side as a thriving business and residential corridor, through collaborative efforts to promote economic development, improved housing, unified neighborhood identity and branding, and greater safety for residents and businesses.

Scaling Wellness In Milwaukee

During the social, an introduction to the SWIM program will occur from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. This session will provide a deeper understanding of their program’s history, mission, current programming, and a firsthand look of the SWIM Hub located in the Concordia 27 building. Members of the SWIM programming team will be around to show insights of their work and how they are preparing to put their mission on the forefront display throughout Milwaukee.

Whether you are new to the SWIM mission or familiar with SWIM, this introduction will provide helpful context for their upcoming programs. This social is a great opportunity for anyone looking to become more involved within the community and learn more about what you can do to support.
