In 1986, a congressional resolution stated that Saturday, Feb. 28, 1986, would be “National TRIO Day,” to honor the outstanding achievements of the Federal TRIO Programs nationwide. TRIO is a set of federally funded college opportunity programs that motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds in their pursuit of a college degree.
To celebrate this occasion, Marquette’s Educational Opportunity Program will host a week of events showcasing the success and resilience of our TRIO students. The EOP invites all students, faculty and staff to join in celebrating the accomplishments of Marquette’s TRIO program and its continued commitment to supporting academic excellence and opportunity.
