The Career Closet, originally launched by Mayra Alaniz with funds from the Brewed Ideas Challenge, will return in the spring semester following a merger with the Backpack Program, Marquette’s food pantry.
The Career Closet provides a dedicated space where students can access donated items including suits, blazers, blouses, button-up shirts, polos, pants, sweaters, skirts and dresses. Building and maintaining a career wardrobe can be both time-consuming and costly. The Career Closet aims to ensure that everyone has access to suitable attire for jobs, internships, interviews, meetings, presentations and networking events.
Originally hosted in the Career Center, it was closed last semester while the Career Center transitioned to the Lemonis Center for Student Success.
Donation bins will be available for drop-off in the Alumni Memorial Union throughout the week of Jan. 13. The Career Closet seeks gently used or new professional clothing items from colleagues, alumni and the greater Marquette community.
At this time, the Career Closet cannot accept shoes or jewelry.
Contributions will make a meaningful impact for many students. Reach out to careercloset@marquette.edu with any questions.
