Join the Institute for Women’s Leadership for its research social on Monday, Nov. 18, from 11 a.m. to noon in O’Brien Hall 436 to learn more about research from the fifth annual IWL Interdisciplinary Summer Grant Program award recipients.
This year’s grant recipients span multiple disciplines, including physical therapy, education, urban leadership and English.

Award recipients will present on the following research projects:
- “Gender and First-Year College Students’ Use and Attitudes towards AI in Education”
- Principal investigator team: Dr. Lilly Campbell, associate professor of English; Dr. Gabriel Velez, associate professor of educational policy and leadership; and Dr. Jenna Green, teaching assistant professor of English
- “Gender Differences in Leadership for Collegiate Varsity Athletes”
- Principal investigator team: Dr. Benjamin Correia-Harker, clinical assistant professor of educational policy and leadership; Dr. Jacob Capin, assistant professor of physical therapy; and Lindsey M. Mirkes, research technician in the LAST Lab at Marquette
- “Black Women Leaders: Navigating the Intersections of Race and Gender at the CRC”
- Principal Investigator: Angelina C. Sandoval, intern associate in the Center for Urban Research, Teaching and Outreach; Co-PI: Dr. Robert Smith, Harry G. John Professor of History and director of CURTO
