Work was recently completed on the fully renovated Pediatrics Clinic in the Marquette University School of Dentistry.
Construction was done within the existing space of more than 1,700 square feet to modernize and refresh the clinic. Enhancements include nine new dental chairs, two private operating rooms and new computer and dental equipment. Walls were added between chairs for improved privacy and more space for students to operate.
In addition, walls in the clinic feature hand-painted murals with an under-the-sea theme to provide a more welcoming environment for patients and their families.
“The new Pediatric clinic was designed to make dental visits more enjoyable for children,” said Dr. Cesar Gonzalez, associate professor and chair of the department of Developmental Sciences. “New modern technology, such as quieter electronic hand-pieces, and the vibrant sea-themed murals make for a positive experience for both children and their parents.”
The project began in May in conjunction with renovations in the Advanced Care clinic on the school’s ground floor, with a grand opening to be announced in the coming weeks.
