Applications are being accepted for three Center of Excellence programs through the Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute. Applications are due Sunday, Nov. 17.
The three programs include Paving ROADS, supporting faculty research; Pioneer Collaborative Curricula, funding new course development; and Student Scholars, supporting students and faculty in research programs.
All COE programs focus on building research capacity in five key areas — artificial intelligence (AI), AI and data bias/ethics, behavioral economics, financial literacy, and health and wealth inequities — while promoting inter- and cross-disciplinary projects that leverage innovative topics, methods and technologies.
The NMDSI is a collaboration between Marquette, the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and Northwestern Mutual with the goals of furthering research, corporate and community applications, and talent development in data science.
