Catholic social teaching and the 2024 election, Oct. 8

Dr. Steven P. Millies, professor of public theology and director of The Bernardin Center at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, will speak on Catholic social teaching and its connection to the 2024 presidential election on Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 11 a.m. to noon in the AMU Monaghan Ballrooms.

In an age of divided politics, can Catholic Social Teaching provide our society with resources to envision and work for a better and more hope-filled future? Millies will offer a reflection on how key principles – human dignity, the common good, solidarity and justice – intersect with today’s pressing political issues.

Registration is appreciated. This discussion is sponsored by the Office of the President, Department of Theology, Center for Peacemaking and the Jesuit community at Marquette.
