The campus community is invited to attend the Mass of the Holy Spirit on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 4:30 p.m. at the Church of the Gesu to kick off the year and celebrate this annual, joyous Mass.
Members of the Marquette community are encouraged to gather after the Mass for a meal together in one of Marquette’s dining halls. Free meal tickets courtesy of Sodexo, Campus Ministry and the Division of Belonging and Student Affairs will be offered at the Mass to students, faculty and staff who do not have a meal plan (while supplies last). Meal tickets will only be valid for use on Sept. 4.
Volunteers are needed for the Mass. To sign up, email Rev. Nathaniel Romano, S.J., for more information.
As a reminder, undergraduate, lecture-based classes will break from meeting between 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. to allow all students — regardless of religious affiliation — to attend the Mass. Graduate and professional courses — including those taught by the Law School and the School of Dentistry — as well as undergraduate labs, clinicals and field-based classes will be held at their usual times.
Mass of the Holy Spirit is a tradition in Jesuit education dating back 450 years and is practiced globally by Jesuit educators. For more information on Mass of the Holy Spirit, click here.
