A message from Dr. Elsbeth Kalenderian, dean of the Marquette University School of Dentistry

Dear valued colleagues,

As the calendar flips to a new academic year, it is a good time to reflect on all we have accomplished and look ahead at the next year. Much has happened at the School of Dentistry since our last update, including seeing off the largest graduating class in recent memory, becoming the first dental school in the country to enact a diploma privilege program and our continued growth in patient care, research and education.

You may have read about some of these matters in Marquette Today thanks to the school’s investment in an enhanced communication strategy. As part of that strategy, we are now able to showcase more of the extraordinary work of our faculty, staff and students in channels we have not utilized before. I hope that you will share your work and encourage your colleagues to do the same by using the submission buttons at the bottom of the newsletter email.

Finally, I again offer well wishes to our faculty and staff who have decided to retire from the School of Dentistry, most of whom dedicated decades to Marquette. At the same time, I am thrilled for those stepping into new leadership roles and those taking full-time positions at the school. May we continue moving forward in our mission.

In the spirit of summer, I send my warmest regards,

Dr. Elsbeth Kalenderian
Dean and Professor
