Marquette University mourns the loss of Paul Salsini, a Marquette alumnus and longtime adjunct professor in the Diederich College of Communication, who died Wednesday, June 5. He was 88 years old.
Paul, who received a journalism degree from Marquette in 1958 and a master’s degree in 1985, worked at the former Milwaukee Journal for 37 years as a reporter, editor and staff development director. He taught journalism courses and the history of musical theater at Marquette for 48 years, beginning in 1970.
In retirement, Paul was an award-winning author of a series of novels set in Tuscany and a non-fiction book about Stephen Sondheim, gave musical theater programs at retirement homes, and volunteered as an editor for the Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service.

A memorial Mass will be held at the Milwaukee Catholic Home (2462 N. Prospect Ave.) at a later date. Memorial contributions may be sent to the House of Peace or the Riverwest Food Pantry.
