Laurie Panella named to BizTimes Milwaukee’s list of Notable Women in Technology 

Laurie Panella, chief information officer, was named to BizTimes Milwaukee’s list of Notable Women in Technology.  

Panella leads the Office of Information Technology Services, which is responsible for developing and implementing the university’s technology strategy and leading the IT services that support academic and administrative computing, including classroom and instructional technology, administrative systems, application development, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, data analytics, support services and telecommunications. 

“Laurie has been instrumental in evolving both the culture and perception of her department from a back-end office function to a strategic partner of the university,” said Joel Pogodzinski, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Marquette. 

Notable Women in Technology is part of BizTimes Milwaukee’s Notable series, which recognizes leaders in the southeastern Wisconsin business community.

Two alumnae were additionally named to the list: 

  • Lena DeLaet, director of sales and Summerfest Tech at Milwaukee World Festival 
  • Angela Johnson, chief information security officer and vice president of IS infrastructure at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin
