External consultant hired to support Securing Our Future effort in advisory role

Boston Consulting Group has been selected to support the Marquette 2031: Securing Our Future Steering Committee in an advisory role, as outlined in the original Securing Our Future announcement in March. While the Steering Committee meets with university leaders and develops initial recommendations this summer, Boston Consulting Group will work on a parallel track to evaluate and inform opportunities in two key areas: 1) reviewing our administrative operations across the university, and 2) optimizing tuition revenue.

The consulting team will support the Steering Committee through its work this summer prior to when recommendations are presented to the Executive Leadership Team. All ideas and analysis from the Boston Consulting Group team will be shared with campus leaders and evaluated by the Steering Committee for further consideration as part of the existing process.

The Boston Consulting Group project team has experience working with Marquette, having recently supported the Marquette 2031 strategic plan process, and brings expertise both in higher education and in helping other large organizations navigate similar processes.

In March, the university issued a request for proposal to eight firms and reviewed five proposals. After review and evaluation of proposals, Steering Committee co-chairs Dr. Jill Guttormson and Ralph Weber recommended Boston Consulting Group to the ELT, which approved the recommendation at the end of May. Boston Consulting Group began work with the university last week.
