Dr. SuJean Choi, professor of biomedical sciences in the College of Health Sciences, has been selected as the 2024 Nora Finnigan Werra Faculty Achievement Award recipient.
Choi will be honored at the Association of Marquette University Women and Institute for Women’s Leadership Awards Conferral on Wednesday, May 29, at 5 p.m. in the Alumni Memorial Union. If interested in attending, register online.
Choi is a scientist who focuses on training and mentoring future generations of scientists and students of science. In addition to mentoring students, she maintains a leadership role in developing and directing the interdisciplinary Neuroscience Graduate program at Marquette and serves as associate dean for research in the College of Health Sciences.
Most recently, she developed a Master of Biomedical Sciences program that will launch this summer. Choi is a principal investigator for the NIH-supported U-RISE program, which provides financial and professional development support for underrepresented undergraduates to engage in hands-on research experiences and facilitate their transition to a graduate program in order to pursue a Ph.D. in science.
