First Look Forum on research technologies and startups, April 18 

The Office of University Relations is co-hosting the annual First Look Forum with the UW-Milwaukee Research Foundation and the Medical College of Wisconsin on Thursday, April 18, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at WE Energies (231 W. Michigan St.). 

This event showcases the innovative researchers and technologies in our region. Participants will share exciting solutions for unmet needs with Milwaukee business leaders, investors, entrepreneurs and academic stakeholders who can help them guide these solutions into the marketplace.

Featured speakers include: 

  • Dr. Bing Yu, associate professor in the Marquette University and Medical College of Wisconsin Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering, who will speak on “Saying Goodbye to Endotracheal Tube Misplacement – A Near-Infrared Device for Safer Intubation.” 
  • Dr. Joseph Wall, associate professor and Donald F. Flynn and Beverly L. Flynn Chair of Accounting in the College of Business Administration; and Dr. Kevin Rich, Chair and Charles T. Horngren Professor of Accounting; who will speak about a startup company in “Praximae: AI-Enabled 3D Education, Seven Minutes at a Time.” 

President Michael R. Lovell will deliver opening remarks alongside UW-Milwaukee Chancellor Mark Mone and Medical College of Wisconsin Provost Joseph Kerschner.
