Mission Week 2024 kicks off Sunday, Feb. 4. There are many events that will help boost spirits in early February in our sacred spaces and through reflections across campus with invited guests and lunches open to our faculty, staff and students in the Alumni Memorial Union.

- Jane Meier Hamilton, MSN, RN, Nurs ’73, will share a Monserrat Moment and her journey as a registered nurse and professional caregiver since 1973. In Jane’s book, “The Caregiver’s Guide to Self-Care” she shares her model, “the 7 C’s for self-care,” with the hope that readers find compassion and comfort in knowing that they are not alone and there are partners on their path. Dr. Jill Guttormson, dean of the College of Nursing, will facilitate the conversation with Jane.
- Ignatian Peacemaking Lecture with Archbishop Emeritus Thomas Menamparampil, ODB | 3:30 p.m.

- Archbishop Menamparampil, S.D.B., is the former archbishop of Guwahati, India. In 2011, he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work for peace among various ethnic groups in northeast India. In 2019, he was the recipient of the Ambassador for Peace Award by the International Human Rights Council. In 2020, he was awarded the Journalism Award by the Catholic Press Association of India for his thought-provoking writings over the years. His book “Values Must Come Alive!” guides readers through the labyrinth of worrying questions that have arisen in modern times related to the issues of moral principles, ethical norms, social codes and value systems amid bewildering cultural differences and infinitely varied contexts.
