2024 Commencement: Date remains TBD pending NBA playoff schedule; ceremony times set for Saturday, Sunday scenarios

Congratulations to our students who will graduate in May 2024! Marquette University looks forward to honoring your many accomplishments.

Marquette’s 143rd Commencement ceremony will be held Saturday, May 11, or Sunday, May 12, at Fiserv Forum, located at 1111 Vel R. Phillips Ave., Milwaukee. The exact date is not yet known because it is dependent upon the NBA playoffs schedule. The university expects to be notified of the exact date for Commencement by the Milwaukee Bucks organization sometime in the next few weeks, and we will share that information with you as soon as we have it.

The university understands this uncertainty with timing may create scheduling challenges for some families and we share your frustration. To host an event of this size and with all the pomp and circumstance our graduates deserve, we wanted to secure the absolute best venue in Milwaukee to celebrate our graduates.

In the interim, Marquette is providing families a schedule of events for either potential day to help with planning.

As a reminder, undergraduate seniors who are graduating must RSVP for Commencement by Friday, April 26. Students must RSVP via the link provided to them in the email they received in their Marquette email account from University Special Events.

Each undergraduate student who will be attending the ceremony will receive up to six guest tickets via their My Marquette Gameday App account. There will be no ticketing requirement nor a limit on guests for the Graduate School, Graduate School of Management and Health Sciences Professional Candidates ceremony because of the size of those classes.  More information is available on the Commencement website.

The School of Dentistry, Law School and some College of Health Sciences’ professional programs will hold separate ceremonies and will not be part of the Fiserv Forum ceremonies; details will be announced later. There will be no other college-specific ceremonies.

Details on deans’ receptions (for colleges hosting receptions) will be communicated by individual colleges at a later date.
