Sophomore Michael Costello set out on a path toward being a Marquette Difference Maker while he was a student at Saint Ignatius High School in his native Cleveland, Ohio. It was there where Michael discovered a desire to serve God through outreach to the imprisoned.
Understanding that there’s power in kindness, Michael currently lives out Marquette’s Catholic, Jesuit values by visiting with local inmates and volunteering with Midnight Run, heeding St. Ignatius’ call to “meet people where they are” by delivering food, blankets, medicine and other essentials to Milwaukee’s unhoused individuals.
I hope you enjoy learning more about Michael’s story. It will be clear to you, as it is to me, that his commitment to helping others will continue to make a difference throughout his life.
Best,
Dr. Michael R. Lovell
