Marquette has collected 240 units of blood – 48% of the university’s goal – as part of its competition with Butler. Marquette has a slight edge in the head-to-head competition, with Butler at 41% of its goal.
Marquette will host additional drives in partnership with Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin through April 2024.
January is National Blood Donor Month. Celebrated each year since 1970, National Blood Donor Month provides an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation and to honor those who have already made a life-saving contribution.
Every two seconds in America, someone urgently needs blood. Yet only 3% of eligible Americans currently donate blood, despite 65% of the population being eligible to do so.
