Marquette at 43% of goal in blood drive competition at semester break

At the end of the fall semester, Marquette has collected 217 units of blood – which is 43% of the university’s 500-unit goal – as part of its blood drive competition with Butler University.

Marquette will host additional drives in partnership with Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin through April 2024. The competition with Butler is close, as the Bulldogs have reached 41% of their year-long goal.

Donations can also go toward the battle outside of specified drives. Use the code “#marquette” in the appointment notes while scheduling with Versiti.

There’s added incentive to donate prior to Sunday, Dec. 31. All who add the code “MU” to the appointment notes and donate blood at the Milwaukee Donor Center between now and Dec. 31 will be entered to win eight suite tickets for the Jan. 10 men’s basketball game between Marquette and Butler at Fiserv Forum*.

The Marquette community donated 434 units of blood during the 2022-23 academic year as part of the first competition with Butler. Thanks to 393 donors, the campus community helped save 1,302 lives.
