Dr. Amber Young-Brice named Associate Dean of Academic Affairs

The College of Nursing has named Dr. Amber Young-Brice as the new Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Young-Brice has been with the college since 2012 and is an assistant professor with more than 15 years of teaching experience. Her research interests center around pedagogy and how non-cognitive factors influence student success.

She is passionate about developing and testing faculty programming that impacts student success. Young-Brice co-developed and facilitates the college’s Teaching Excellence Program for first-year faculty. She expanded her expertise with inter-disciplinary research alongside engineering faculty, receiving a National Science Foundation grant to support broadening engineering teaching with theory-based educational resources.

Young-Brice’s many professional accomplishments include a Faculty Teaching Excellence Award from the college, the Marquette University John P. Raynor, S.J. Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence, and a Way-Klingler Teaching Enhancement Award from the university.

Jan. 2, 20224 will be Young-Brice’s first day in the role.
