Marquette at 22% of goal in blood drive competition; donate Nov. 14 to receive MUPD Blue stress paw

Those who donate on Nov. 14 will receive this MUPD Blue-themed stress paw.

Marquette has collected 108 units of blood, which is 22% of the university’s 500-unit goal, as part of its blood drive competition with Butler University. Help Marquette continue its efforts – and receive a free MUPD Blue-themed stress paw – by donating on Tuesday, Nov. 14, from noon to 5 p.m. in Carpenter Tower 102.

This drive is open to all campus members. Those interested can make an appointment online

The squishy stress paws were inspired by the two Blues at the competing universities – Marquette University Police Department’s community outreach dog and Butler Blue IV, the official mascot of Butler University. The campus community is invited to participate in Marquette’s “Help Blue Beat Blue” initiative by donating.

Those who donate will also receive a $10 e-gift card.

Information on additional drives can be found on Versiti’s website. Donations can also go toward the battle outside of specified drives. Use the code “#marquette” in the appointment notes while scheduling with Versiti.

The Marquette community donated 434 units of blood during the 2022-23 academic year as part of the first competition with Butler. Thanks to 393 donors, the campus community helped save 1,302 lives.
