Join the Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education on Thursday, Nov. 16, as Derek Mosley, director of the Lubar Center, welcomes Chris Corkery, founder/CEO of Hundred Acre. Inc., as part of the “Get to Know” series. The program will begin at 12:15 p.m. in Eckstein Hall.
Corkery invested in revitalizing distressed areas by creating Hundred Acre, an urban hydroponic farm in Century City, near 31st and Capitol, in the heart of Milwaukee. The 5,000-square-foot farm produces a year-round harvest of 50,000 pounds of produce for Milwaukee-area restaurants, grocers and university dining services.
As Mosley has explained, the “Get to Know” series is intended to be “more late-night talk show than ‘Meet the Press.’” The program will include lunch, conversation and community. Register here to attend.
