The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) hosts Campus Sustainability Month through October. This annual event celebrates higher education sustainability achievements while raising awareness of the value of sustainability in higher education. To celebrate and kickoff a new year of sustainability advancements, Marquette will host the following events throughout the month:
- Campus BioBlitz | Sept. 26-Oct. 3 in various locations
- A BioBlitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area over a period of time. Participants who make over 10 observations will be entered into a drawing to win a gift card from a local business or organization.
- National Week without Driving | Oct. 2-8
- GROW: Working Sustainably at Marquette | Oct. 3 from Noon to 1 p.m. in AMU 448
- Care for Creation Wine and Cheese Reflection | Oct. 4 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the AMU Lunda Room
- The Faber Center and Sustainable Marquette co-host this afternoon gathering. As we remember the feast of St. Francis of Assisi and his tremendous love for creation, we come together to reflect on our own relationship with the natural world. Register online.
- Energy Efficiency Day | Oct. 4 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the second floor of the AMU
- Campus Sustainability Walking Tour | Oct. 13 from noon to 1 p.m. beginning at the Service Building
- Join Marquette’s sustainability and energy management coordinator for a one-hour, lunchtime walking tour of campus to learn about what makes Marquette sustainable and what the future holds. This event is open to students and employees.
- Sustainability 2.0 Conference | Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the AMU Monaghan Ballrooms
- ESG and sustainability experts will gather from around the country for the fourth annual Marquette Business “Marquette Sustainability 2.0 Conference” to discuss how the adoption of ESG and sustainability standards in business and industry continue to give rise to an emerging paradigm for responsible and ethical business practice.

- Sustainability Trivia with Late Night MU | Oct. 26 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Union Sports Annex
- This event is open to students. No RSVP is required.
