It may seem hard to believe with the year just barely underway, but recruiting for summer internships and jobs is already approaching prime time in a wide range of industries.
College of Business Administration students are invited to attend the following events to make connections with professionals and get a legp-up on their employment search.
If you need help writing a resume and cover letter, coming up with answers for a job interview or networking with alumni, the Business Career Center can help. Students can schedule in-person or virtual appointments via Handshake, which also contains a jobs database and a comprehensive list of events.
Finance and Real Estate Recruiting Fair: Tuesday, Sept. 12, 5-7 p.m. in the Michels Family Forum at O’Brien Hall
Finance is an industry area with early recruitment norms – many organizations recruit for summer 2024 internships and full-time start dates from August through October. The Finance and Real Estate Recruiting Fair will offer a jump-start opportunity for students and employers to connect through networking and apply for positions.
Prior registration on Handshake is encouraged, but not required.
Accounting Reverse Pitch Virtual Event: Wednesday, Sept. 13, 5-7 p.m.
A reverse pitch event is like a reverse career fair; the employers will introduce their organizations to you. Then, at the Meet the Firms Social on September 27th, you may connect with and introduce yourself to representatives of hiring organizations in-person.
The event will be held through Microsoft Teams and moderated by professor Rich Tobin. Students are encouraged to stay for the full event but may attend whichever portion of it fits with their schedules.
Recommended attire includes a shirt and tie, blouses or Marquette-branded gear for a more casual appearance. Suits are not expected or required.

Marquette University Fall Career and Internship Fair: Wednesday, Sept. 20, 3-7 p.m. AND Thursday, Sept. 21, 3-7 p.m. in the Monaghan Grand Ballroom at the Alumni Memorial Union
This is your chance to meet with representatives from a variety of industries to learn about job opportunities, internships, co-ops, and post-graduate service opportunities. This event is open to both undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines and all class years, as well as alumni. Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required.
Non-technical employers will come to campus on Sept. 20, while technical employers will come on Sept. 21. Those interested in business, communications, non-profit, healthcare, education, social services, and post-graduation year of service should attend the Sept. 20 fair, while those interested in engineering, IT and other technical fields should go to the Sept. 21 event.
BizNet 2023 at Marquette University: Tuesday, Sept. 26, 5-7 p.m. in the Monaghan Grand Ballroom at the Alumni Memorial Union
Students with a major or an interest in information systems, operations and supply chain management, business analytics, computer science, computer engineering, and other IT/data-related jobs and internships are encouraged to participate in BizNet 2023.
There will be opportunities to mingle with company representatives for one-on-one or small group conversations. Expected dress is business professional.

Accounting Meet the Firms Social: Wednesday, Sept. 27, 5-7 p.m in the Robert and Mary Kemp Plaza outside O’Brien Hall
Students and company representatives will have the opportunity to connect for one-on-one and small group conversation through yard games and light refreshments.
This is a “get to know you” recruiting event. As such, a clean, groomed appearance is recommended. Attire may span from Marquette gear to business casual wear, such as a collared shirt or a blouse. A suit is not required or expected.
HR Career Education and Networking Event: Tuesday, October 3, 5-7 p.m. in the Michels Family Forum at O’ Brien Hall
Join the HRMO student organization for a panel discussion with industry HR leaders, who will share their thoughts about the industry’s future and answer student questions. There will be networking opportunities afterward.
