Join fellow students, faculty and staff on Saturday, Sept. 16, for the first Marquette University President’s Fun Run. This is a new opportunity for the campus community to gather in the spirit of well-being for a 2.5-mile walk or run through campus and the nearby neighborhood.
The fun run is not a timed event, and the route will follow sidewalks and pathways. Runners and walkers will gather outside the Alumni Memorial Union on Eckstein Common to kick off the event. Check-in begins at 8:15 a.m. with short remarks at 8:45 a.m. prior to the 9 a.m. start. Participants will receive a T-shirt upon completion.
The route heads south through central campus, down 13th Street and then west past Valley Fields. At 25th Street, participants will turn around and follow the same route to return to the starting area. All are welcome to enjoy refreshments at the finish line.
There is no cost to participate in the fun run, but registration is requested to assist with planning. Please register here. Donations to the Stronger than Sarcoma fund are welcome and can be made during the registration process. The Stronger than Sarcoma fund helps fund critical research and clinical trial development for those affected by this disease, and Marquette University is hosting the fourth annual Stronger than Sarcoma Soiree the evening prior to the fun run.
