Several new services will launch at the Raynor Memorial Libraries in the coming months in addition to construction beginning on the Lemonis Center for Student Success.
- Book self-checkout: Later this summer, patrons will be able to check out books themselves at new self-service kiosks or with a convenient mobile-phone app. Self-service checkout of laptops is already available.
- IT Help Desk: Beginning in the 2023 fall semester, patrons will be able to get IT help in the library, thanks to a relocation of the IT Services Help Desk to Raynor.
- Upgraded library system: By fall of 2024, the library will operate with a much more efficient and user-friendly library management system that replaces both the public catalog and back-end resource management functions into a unified, cloud-based system, Alma/Primo from Ex Libris.
As noted previously in Marquette Today, Raynor Library is undergoing a minor remodeling this summer to create a new one-stop desk where patrons can check out books and equipment, get information about library services and resources, and connect with library expertise.
