Marquette University’s Staff Senate is now seeking nominations for its upcoming election.
There are two openings for an academic senator and two for an administrative senator. In addition, there will be a University Academic Senate (UAS) position; this role can only be filled by an academic staff member whose line reports up through the Provost’s Office.
This individual will be a voting member of UAS and can be (but is not required to be) a member of USS.
Any full-time or regular part-time employee whose primary designation is staff rather than faculty or student, who has been employed by Marquette for at least one year as of May 1, 2023, and who is not represented by a collective bargaining unit may be elected to the University Staff Senate.
Interested individuals need two nominations to be on the ballot and can nominate themselves.
The nomination form is open Monday, May 8, through Friday, May 26, with elections to be held Monday, June 19, through Friday, June 30. Questions can be sent to Senate Staff.
University Staff Senate is a group of elected individuals who represent Marquette staff so that their views and interests may be considered, alongside those of faculty and students, in the conduct of institutional affairs that affect life in the workplace and in the advancement of the university’s mission.
