The Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education and the College of Education will co-host a program on strengthening the teacher workforce on Wednesday, April 26, from 8:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in Eckstein Hall.

Michael Hansen, the Herman and George R. Brown Chair in Governance Studies at the Brookings Institution and senior fellow in the Brown Center on Education Policy at Brookings, will be the keynote speaker. His specialties include issues affecting teacher quality and trends shaping the teaching profession.
Alan Borsuk, senior fellow in law and public policy in the Law School, will interview Hansen, followed by a panel discussion of leaders in Wisconsin education on what needs to be done to attract, retain and support teachers.
