Marketing Department to host Kellstadt Lecture April 21

The College of Business Administration invites Marquette faculty, staff and students to the 2023 Kellstadt Lecture on Friday, April 21, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in AMU 227.

This year, the lecture will feature two nationally prominent, distinguished guests from Florida State University’s College of Business: Dr. Martin Mende, the Jim Moran Professor of Business Administration, and Dr. Maura Scott, the Dr. Persis E. and Dr. Charles E. Rockwood Eminent Scholar Chair in Marketing.

Their lecture is titled, “The Effects of Service Robots on Consumer Experiences.” Interactions between consumers and humanoid service robots will soon be part of routine marketplace experiences, especially in hospitality and healthcare. This research examines whether humanoid robots will trigger positive or negative consequences for consumers and companies relative to human employees.

The Kellstadt Lecture is an annual, endowed event that brings together some of the industry’s brightest thinkers to discuss its most pressing challenges. Previous speakers have included Michelle Morris, the vice president of global marketing solutions at Facebook, and Paul DePodesta, the chief strategy officer for the Cleveland Browns.

Attendance is free of charge. Pre-registration is required and can be done here.
