The campus community is invited to celebrate the Marquette women’s and men’s basketball teams as they depart from the Al McGuire Center for their respective trips to the NCAA Tournament on Wednesday, March 15. Both teams will be departing through the Al McGuire lobby, with the men’s team leaving at 1 p.m. and the women’s team leaving at 1:50 p.m. Attendees are asked to arrive 10 minutes prior to each team’s respective exit.
Both teams are opening NCAA Tournament play on Friday, March 17. The ninth-seeded women’s basketball team will travel to Columbia, South Carolina, to face No. 8 South Florida at 10:30 a.m. (ESPN2). The men’s basketball team earned a No. 2 seed, the highest in program history, and will play No. 15 Vermont at 1:45 p.m. in Columbus, Ohio (CBS).
The women’s basketball team is making its 14th NCAA Tournament appearance and its first since 2020-21. The men’s basketball team is making its second straight appearance and 35th overall.
