‘Advancing Healthcare through Startups and Venture Capital’ event, April 4

Dr. Jonathan Fritz, adjunct instructor in the College of Business Administration and partner at HealthX Ventures, will host and facilitate an event titled “Advancing Healthcare through Startups and Venture Capital,” on Tuesday, April 4, at 5 p.m. in O’Brien Hall 150. 

Guest speakers Dr. Fred Robertson and Dr. Justin Mortara will join Fritz to talk about how startup companies and venture capital can fuel innovation in the healthcare sector.  

The event will include networking at 5 p.m. and the panel from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. before concluding with additional networking opportunities. This event is free and open to all Marquette University and Medical College of Wisconsin students, employees and alums. No registration is required. 

Robertson is an independent consultant that has been providing expert advice to Baird Capital since 2011. Prior to his role at Baird, Robertson retired as chief executive officer and director of TomoTherapy Inc.  

Mortara is a physicist, proven executive leader and healthcare innovator. For over 20 years he dedicated his career to Mortara Instrument, a leading provider of diagnostics for cardiovascular disease. Today, he is president and chief executive officer of EnsoData, the leading waveform AI company enabling diagnosis of sleep disorders.   

Fritz will moderate the panel. Prior to his time at HealthX Ventures, Fritz served as the chief innovation officer at the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, a global association of C-suite hospital personnel. He is an alum of both Marquette and the Medical College of Wisconsin.
