New Mission Week theme asks Marquette community to Act with Kindness

Mission Week’s four-year “Open to…” series has made way for a new series, “Act with…,” which asks the Marquette community to shift its focus during Mission Week from reflection to outward behaviors.

First in the series for Mission Week 2023 is “Act with Kindness.” The theme reminds us that, “In every waking moment and with every interaction, we have the opportunity to act with kindness.”

As the campus community prepares to celebrate Mission Week, Feb. 5 – 11, Rev. Jim Voiss, S.J., vice president for mission and ministry, calls on us to think about times when we have experienced kindness.

“Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness can have the biggest effect on people,” Father Voiss says. “Just as Ignatius of Loyola did on the road to Montserrat during his journey to becoming a saint, let us all find ways to weave kindness for ourselves and for others into the fabric of our lives. Let kindness flourish in our daily affairs.”

A full schedule of events and registration are available on the Mission Week website.
