Dr. Doris Walker-Dalhouse, professor of literacy in the Department of Educational Policy and Leadership in the College of Education, is attending the 72nd annual Literacy Research Conference this week from Tuesday, Nov. 29, through Saturday, Dec. 3, where she is serving as the conference chair and president-elect.
In this capacity, Walker-Dalhouse has selected “Crossing Boundaries and Borders: In Pursuit of Equity, Solidarity, and Social Justice,” as the conference theme. The theme is intended to engage the association in discovering the origins of our collective discontents through civil dialogue and to encourage activism that makes visible the unseen stirrings that act as barriers to pursuing equity, solidarity and social justice for the diversity of students, families, and communities we seek to serve.
