Masses to take place in celebration of All Saints’ Day, All Souls Day

November 1, 2022

All students, faculty, staff and other members of the Marquette community are invited to join in the Solemn Feast of All Saints on Tuesday, Nov. 1, and celebrate the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, also known as “All Souls Day,” on Wednesday, Nov. 2.

All Saints’ Day gives thanks to God for the gift of the holy women and men who witness to us of God’s love and grace through our lives.

The university will offer the following celebrations for this Holy Day on Nov. 1:

  • Mass at the Chapel of the Holy Family | Noon
  • Eucharistic Adoration | 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Chapel
  • Mass at St. Joan of Arc Chapel | 10 p.m.

The university will be celebrating All Souls with the following liturgies on Nov. 2:

  • Mass at the Chapel of the Holy Family, followed by a reception | Noon
  • Eucharistic Adoration at Gesu Church, in collaboration with the Church of the Gesu | 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Solemn Vespers of the Dead, including Benediction, at Gesu Church, in collaboration with the Church of the Gesu | 5:15 p.m.
  • Mass at St. Joan of Arc Chapel | 10 p.m.

We know that our loved ones who have died now live anew with God and that, while we mourn, we will see them again at the final Resurrection. Until then, we pray in thanksgiving to God for the gifts of their lives, for their repose and for their intercession for us as well.

All are welcome.
