Mission and Ministry offering faculty fellowship

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that the Office of Mission and Ministry is now inviting proposals for our second cohort in the Faculty Mission Integration Fellowship program (FMIF). By providing course buyouts (one course per semester for up to two semesters), the FMIF enables faculty to explore how, by drawing on the resources of our Ignatian Heritage, we might integrate the mission more deeply into Marquette University. Proposals should result in programming that can benefit faculty and/or staff to integrate the mission more deeply into some dimension of our campus life. It should have application beyond the proposal’s initial pilot.

Proposals from our current cohort address such topics as use of Ignatian resources when engaged in conflict resolution; diversity, equity and inclusion from the perspective of persons with disabilities; training in restorative practices (i.e., restorative justice) for students, faculty and staff; and pedagogical strategies for effectively advancing anti-racism on campus. The range of potential topics is virtually endless.

Submissions for the cohort beginning in September 2023 are due Feb. 6, 2023.

For further information, including submission guidelines, please see the Simmons Fund website.
