The Institute for Women’s Leadership invites scholars at all career stages and from all disciplines whose research centers on women and/or gender to submit their work to the inaugural IWL Research Conference.
The conference will be Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Athletic and Human Performance Research Center.
With this year’s theme of “courageous collaborations,” the conference aims to gather a diverse, collaborative community of undergraduate students, graduate students, staff and faculty at all stages of their research careers around a shared interest in women and/or gender.
The conference seeks to facilitate cross-disciplinary connections and dialogue about women and gender, provide a forum to discuss the challenges women and gender non-conforming people face as leaders in the crisis in higher education and to identify key opportunities, open questions and potential resources and solutions.
Finally, it seeks to further develop a multidisciplinary community for research related to women and gender.
Proposals are being sought for the following:
- “Works in progress” workshops where participants will have the opportunity to get feedback on work at any stage, from early research memos to funding proposals to full draft papers
- Poster presentations that allow participants to present their gender research to a broad, interdisciplinary audience
- Participation on a panel on collaborative research and co-authorship as part of IWL’s Women Who Write Series
