Donate winter essentials to help those in need

The Marquette University Staff Senate and Krueger Child Care Center are partnering on a service project to help provide winter essentials for those in need this holiday season.

The Child Care Center will decorate a Christmas tree in Cathedral Square with donations of socks, gloves, mittens, hats and scarves. The Center staff and children will festively decorate plastic bags and place the items inside. They will then hang the bags on the Cathedral Square tree for those in need to take through the holiday season.

Donations of socks, gloves, mittens, hats and scarves will be accepted until Saturday, Dec. 31. Anything donated after will be saved for the next giving-tree season.

The center has an Amazon Wish List and similar items can be sent to or dropped off at 500 N. 19th St. or at the AMU Spirit Shop. Clean, gently used items are also accepted.

Email Amy Kaboskey, director of the Child Care Center, with any questions.
