Join the Career Services Center on Tuesday, Nov. 8, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the AMU Lunda’s Room for First Gen Connect. The Career Services Center invites first-generation college students to an evening of storytelling and conversation with fellow members of the Marquette University community and employer guests.
Attendees will hear and share stories of the successes and challenges faced by first-gen college students and professionals and connect their degree to the world of work by meeting employers committed to hiring diverse talent.
First-year through graduate students from all programs are encouraged to attend.
Nov. 8 is National First-Generation College Celebration Day.
This event is sponsored by J.B. Hunt. First-gen professionals from J.B. Hunt, the Milwaukee Bucks and MilliporeSigma will speak about their experiences in college and the workplace.
Additionally, organizations representing a variety of fields and industries will casually network with students.
