IWL social with Narrative 4, Oct. 26

Join the Institute for Women’s Leadership at its second social of the semester on Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Marquette Hall 105 for a courageous story exchange with Marquette’s chapter of Narrative 4, a global nonprofit promoting “fearless hope through radical empathy.”

Learn to listen deeply to the stories of others and boldly share your own as trained facilitators lead attendees through powerful narrative exchange activities centered on the theme of courage. Attendees will be asked to tell a story about one of the following prompts:

  1. Tell a story about a time when you witnessed courage in the workplace, and talk about the impact it had on you and others.
  2. Thinking way back to early memories, tell a story about the first time you remember feeling brave. What did that feel like? Was it helpful? How did others respond?
  3. Tell a story about a time when you wish you would have been brave, but you couldn’t.
  4. Susan Sontag wrote, “Courage is as contagious as fear.” Tell a story about a time when you experienced this as true. Talk about the impact it had.

Step away from life’s demands and engage in meaningful, reflective conversation.
