The Haggerty Museum of Art is presenting “Tolkien Tuesdays,” featuring gallery talks by Marquette faculty members in conjunction with the exhibition “J.R.R. Tolkien: The Art of the Manuscript,” on view at the museum through Dec. 23.
The gallery talks are free and open to the public. No registration is required.
The schedule is as follows:
- Tuesday, Sept. 27, noon: Prof. Kali Murray, professor in the Marquette Law School, will present “Tolkien: The Presence of Law”
- Tuesday, Oct. 25, noon: Dr. Michael Cover, associate professor of theology in the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences, will present “Tolkien and the Bible”
- Tuesday, Nov. 29, noon: Dr. Gerry Canavan, associate professor, associate chair and director of graduate studies of English in the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences, will present “Tolkien in Popular Culture”
