New Student Convocation rescheduled for Family Weekend, Sept. 24; all new undergraduate students encouraged to attend

New Student Convocation — considered the formal welcome to Marquette for new undergraduate students and their families — has been rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 24, as part of Family Weekend festivities. Convocation will be held in the Varsity Theatre at 3 p.m., preceding the 4 p.m. Mass at the Church of the Gesu. First-year students and their families should register online.

All first-year students are encouraged to attend with their family members. A livestream will be available online on the Family Weekend website for those who are not able to attend in person.

Emceed by Provost Kimo Ah Yun, the event will feature a brief program including remarks from President Michael R. Lovell and an honor pledge and pinning ceremony. First-year students who already received their pins are asked to bring them to Convocation.

A reception with free food and beverages will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the Varsity lobby outside the AMU Ballrooms. We look forward to officially welcoming the Class of 2026 to Marquette!
